Reflecting: Blog Finale

Well so ends another semester. Now its time to recap my personal favorite blog posts from this semester in barely any particular order:

10. Reflecting: Blog Finale - Yes I'm gonna go out on a limb and already assume that this will be one of my best posts. Why you ask? Because I love lists! It allows the most freedom to rant without actually directly going on a rant. I feel that this post will sum up just about all my feelings about my writings related to this class in a thorough succinct way.

9. Change is a good thing? - I'm a big fan of the prompt for this post. The idea was to post on something about how the internet and internet related things have changed. For this post I just decided to discuss my memories of using the internet as a child and the development of it as a medium over time. I mostly like this post because I felt it was a bit thought provoking and fairly well written.

8. Star Tours - This was a more recent post, but the first thing I posted this whole semester that wasn't a rant or a review of something. The news story I read just hit a nerve and I felt the need to discuss it. This post is a good example of how I feel a blog post should look, and one of my favorite that I've written.

7. Top 5 Movies - As previously mentioned, I love lists! This was just an enjoyable post to make because it allowed me to not just discuss things I enjoy, but to also think about and wonder why it was that I did enjoy them. I recently went back as well and added in links to the post to provide actual reference to what I am talking about.

6. Top 5 Bands - I made this and the previous post nearly back to back, but I still like them both. This post was well written and about something I care about greatly, music. It allowed me to think about what bands have affected me as I've gotten older and think about the influence this has had on my writing as of late. I recently edited this post as well to add reference links into it.

5. To shreds you say... - My first blog post. How could I not put this here. Honestly my main liking of this post is the title. It's my favorite line from my favorite show, Futurama. The post itself is pretty basic, which is no surprise seeing as I was rushing to get it posted by the required deadline. Not the best way to start the semester, but definitely an amusing one. The post itself is fairly well written, and is good at describing what I had hoped my semester of writing would look like.

4. Of In-game Events - One of my favorite posts of the semester. I made a description for this blog saying I'd be discussing stuff related to gaming, namely the game World of Warcraft, but neglected to really follow through. Well this post allowed me to discuss the game, but also to discuss my addiction to it. It was an interesting post that I spent a lot of time on, and even came back to a few times to edit things and try to make it look a bit nicer. I'm very proud of this one.

3. Citizen Journalists - I personally like this blog more for the subject matter than the actual post I made. The idea of citizen journalists had fascinated me for some time and not surprisingly there was an assignment to write about them since their main medium tends to be blogs and such. The post wasn't my most developed, but I like the way it turned out anyways.

2. Visual Blogs-Week 2 - I like this post most of all my class related posts because I wrote it more like my own style rather than that of the style I typically use for school writings. I bitched at the beginning about how ASU's crappy internet and web-related utilities and then continued on to discuss how I planned to visually represent my blog. All in all it was an enjoyable post and a nice way to truly start my blogging experience.

1. Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder - My favorite post! I love writing reviews. I used to do them all the time on my first website, and it still happens to be one of my favorite styles of writing. This was my first attempt to include a picture into my post as well as to really focus in on the topic I was writing about. This just happens to be my favorite post because it relates to Futurama, something I truly love and enjoy.

Well that is all for this semester of blogging. My plan is to continue to maintain this blog, but who knows if i will. Only time will tell...
