Further Reflecting
I personally found writing a blog to be one of the most annoying and tedious things to do for a class. It took something I really enjoy, journaling, and turned it into the nagging incessantly boring semester long project. Working on this blog has frustrated me to no end, but that's what school is good for...so no real surprise.
All I've learned about myself as a writer is that I love to rant. Stream of consciousness writing is also where I seem to be. I just like sitting down and typing til I seem to stop typing with no real thoughts as to what I'm saying or the way in which I'm saying it. Honestly this isn't news to me, but this semester further proved my liking of it.
Honestly the only other thing I can say of blogging is that I'm not a fan. I want to continue this blog, because it gives me an outlet to vent..but honestly I could just yell at my friends if i need to do that. So what really is the point?
Reflecting: Blog Finale
10. Reflecting: Blog Finale - Yes I'm gonna go out on a limb and already assume that this will be one of my best posts. Why you ask? Because I love lists! It allows the most freedom to rant without actually directly going on a rant. I feel that this post will sum up just about all my feelings about my writings related to this class in a thorough succinct way.
9. Change is a good thing? - I'm a big fan of the prompt for this post. The idea was to post on something about how the internet and internet related things have changed. For this post I just decided to discuss my memories of using the internet as a child and the development of it as a medium over time. I mostly like this post because I felt it was a bit thought provoking and fairly well written.
8. Star Tours - This was a more recent post, but the first thing I posted this whole semester that wasn't a rant or a review of something. The news story I read just hit a nerve and I felt the need to discuss it. This post is a good example of how I feel a blog post should look, and one of my favorite that I've written.
7. Top 5 Movies - As previously mentioned, I love lists! This was just an enjoyable post to make because it allowed me to not just discuss things I enjoy, but to also think about and wonder why it was that I did enjoy them. I recently went back as well and added in links to the post to provide actual reference to what I am talking about.
6. Top 5 Bands - I made this and the previous post nearly back to back, but I still like them both. This post was well written and about something I care about greatly, music. It allowed me to think about what bands have affected me as I've gotten older and think about the influence this has had on my writing as of late. I recently edited this post as well to add reference links into it.
5. To shreds you say... - My first blog post. How could I not put this here. Honestly my main liking of this post is the title. It's my favorite line from my favorite show, Futurama. The post itself is pretty basic, which is no surprise seeing as I was rushing to get it posted by the required deadline. Not the best way to start the semester, but definitely an amusing one. The post itself is fairly well written, and is good at describing what I had hoped my semester of writing would look like.
4. Of In-game Events - One of my favorite posts of the semester. I made a description for this blog saying I'd be discussing stuff related to gaming, namely the game World of Warcraft, but neglected to really follow through. Well this post allowed me to discuss the game, but also to discuss my addiction to it. It was an interesting post that I spent a lot of time on, and even came back to a few times to edit things and try to make it look a bit nicer. I'm very proud of this one.
3. Citizen Journalists - I personally like this blog more for the subject matter than the actual post I made. The idea of citizen journalists had fascinated me for some time and not surprisingly there was an assignment to write about them since their main medium tends to be blogs and such. The post wasn't my most developed, but I like the way it turned out anyways.
2. Visual Blogs-Week 2 - I like this post most of all my class related posts because I wrote it more like my own style rather than that of the style I typically use for school writings. I bitched at the beginning about how ASU's crappy internet and web-related utilities and then continued on to discuss how I planned to visually represent my blog. All in all it was an enjoyable post and a nice way to truly start my blogging experience.
1. Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder - My favorite post! I love writing reviews. I used to do them all the time on my first website, and it still happens to be one of my favorite styles of writing. This was my first attempt to include a picture into my post as well as to really focus in on the topic I was writing about. This just happens to be my favorite post because it relates to Futurama, something I truly love and enjoy.
Well that is all for this semester of blogging. My plan is to continue to maintain this blog, but who knows if i will. Only time will tell...

Star Tours
I still have memories of being a small kid and having my Dad drag me on the ride while I was nearly kicking and screaming, only to get off just before the ride started. This went on at least another two times before I was willing to sit somewhat quiet, and somewhat still. I think we ultimately went on to ride the magnificent ride another 20 or so times in a row before I could be stopped.
It's continued to be one of my all-time favorite rides, despite the fact that I have not just the video but all the movements of the "shuttle" memorized. It doesn't provide even the slightest amount of thrills anymore, hell it tends to cause me such bad back and neck pain that I can barely keep the tears out of my eyes the rest of the day. But the memories of my childhood and my love of Star Wars just keeps me coming back time and time again.
All-in-all I think the revamp of the ride was a long time coming, but I can't help feel nervous that it just will ruin the ride for me. All I know is that I need to get out to Disneyland and Disney World ASAP before the rides are gone forever...who want's to go with? :)

Top 5 Movies
5. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure - How could I not feature this movie on my Top 5 list? This was my favorite movie of my childhood by and far. I can actually say that for around 8 years of my life I watched this movie nearly every single night before going to bed. It is one of the funniest classic 80's comedies by and far. Plus it features the greatest comedian of all time, George Carlin.
4. Star Wars - I'm just going to list the entire series here. A New Hope and Revenge of the Sith both tie for my favorite of the saga, but the series as a whole is so instrumental in my life that I couldn't help but include the entire series on this list. Now seeing as I live so much of my life based around these movies, it might be surprising they're not in a higher place, but that doesn't mean I love them any less.
3. The Crow - This was my first rated R movie, and persists to be amongst my favorite movies of all time. On my first viewing at the age of 9 I continued to watch it around 3-4 times in a row simply due to the bloodiness and the small amount of nudity. As I got older though I began to love the brutal imagery and darkness of it. The acting in it as well was just amazing, which makes it all the more sad that Brandon Lee died filming the movie.
2. Mallrats - This was an easy choice to have up here. I've seen the movie over a 100 times at least....and that's just during this past week. I have the whole movie memorized from the music down to every line in it. Jason Lee's character of Brody just resonates as my favorite character in any movie ever, despite Jason Lee's own insanity. The movie all together is just one of my favorite things of all time, and is most assuredly my favorite Kevin Smith movie.
1. Die Hard - After many years of ignoring my love for this movie, it dawned on me not to long ago just how much I love it. For years now I've made it my tradition to watch it on Xmas each and every year and I truly love everything about it. The music, the visuals, the acting...everything in the movie is just absolutely amazing.

Joke Time
Voodoo Dick
There was this businessman who was getting ready to go on a long business trip. He knew his wife was a flirtatious sort, so he thought he'd try to get her something to keep her occupied while he was gone, because he didn't much like the idea of her screwing someone else.
So he went to a store that sold sex toys and started looking around. He thought about a life-sized sex doll, but that was too close to another man for him. He was browsing through the dildos, looking for something special to please his wife, and started talking to the old man behind the counter. He explained his situation, the old man "Well, I don't really know of anything that will do the trick. We have vibrating dildos, special attachments, and so on, but I don't know of anything that will keep her occupied for weeks, except..." and he stopped."
"Except what?"
"Nothing, nothing."
"C'mon, tell me ! I need something!"
"Well, sir, I don't usually mention this, but there is the 'voodoo dick.'"
"So what's up with this voodoo dick?" the businessman asked.
The old man reached under the counter, and pulled out an old wooden box, carved with strange symbols. He opened it, and there lay a very ordinary-looking dildo. The businessman laughed, and said "Big fucking deal. It looks like every other dildo in this shop!"
"Ahh, but you haven't seen what it'll do yet."
He pointed to a door and said "Voodoo dick, the door."
The voodoo dick rose out of its box, darted over to the door, and started screwing the keyhole. The whole door shook with the vibrations, and a crack developed down the middle.
Before the door could split, the old man said "Voodoo dick, get back in your box!"
The voodoo dick stopped, floated back to the box and lay there, quiescent once more.
Businessman "I'll take it!"
The old man resisted, saying "it wasn't for sale", but he finally surrendered to $700 in cash. The guy took it home to his wife, told her it was a special dildo and that to use it, all she had to do was say...
"Voodoo dick, my pussy."
He left for his trip satisfied that things would be fine while he was gone.
After he'd been gone a few days, the wife was unbearably horny. She thought of several people who would willingly satisfy her, but then she remembered the voodoo dick. She got it out, and said "Voodoo dick, my pussy!" The voodoo dick shot to her crotch and started pumping. It was great, like nothing she'd ever experienced before.
After three orgasms, she decided she'd had enough, and tried to pull it out, but it was stuck in her, still thrusting. She tried and tried to get it out, but nothing worked. Her husband had forgot to tell her how to shut it off. So she decided to go to the hospital to see if they could help. She put her clothes on, got in the car and started to drive to the hospital, quivering with every thrust of the dildo On the way, another orgasm nearly made her swerve off the road, and she was pulled over by a policeman. He asked for her license, and then asked how much she'd had to drink. Gasping and twitching, she explained that she hadn't been drinking, but that a voodoo dick was stuck in her pussy, and wouldn't stop screwing.
The officer looked at her for a second, and then said: "
Yea, right. Voodoo dick, my ass!"

Of Descriptions
Where is information on Star Wars?
Where is something related to World of Warcraft?
What of the narcoleptic monkeys of the world?
I can't believe I made such a fundamental error in my posting as to forget to talk about what it is that I promised to talk about....also grammar...wow that sentence was non-sensical.
Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder

So I thought today I would write a review on the most recent, as well as final Futurama DVD which was just released. This is mostly because I finally got a chance to watch it last night.
All-in-all it was an amazing movie, as well as a great finale to Futurama. This turned out to be the best of the movies, barely sneaking by a better score in my mind than "Bender's Big Score". The only reason it almost didn't was because I was far more tearful watching the first movie.
I personally watched "Into the Wild Green Yonder" on Blu-ray, and all I can say is that the visuals were just gorgeous. The design of the episode was amazing and they way everything was incorporated was stunning. Never in my life would I have thought that I'd pause a cartoon to examine how the animators decided to depict tin foil.
The music and sound effects were as always very nice as well. This movie featured a new rendition of the classic theme song, performed by Seth McFarlane of Family Guy fame.
The last thing I can say is that the story was great as always. It tied up the most important plot point of the entire series and gave a great send off to what is in my honest opinion the best show on or off television. With an ending as amazing as they gave I conflicted if I want to see a return of the series or just let it end as beautifully as it did.

Citizen Journalists
The idea of a citizen journalist has continued to be a popular source of information for people looking for a more independent take on the events of the world. To most it's better to go to someone with little to no bias. With a lot of the mainstream media they become biased to a certain political party, movement, religion, or any other thing based upon the station they work for. In the realm of blogging this isn't much of a concern.
Obviously everyone has their own opinions and bias, but it's nice sometimes to read a report of something where the only bias is that of the author and not of the corporate shadow looming above.

Boredom and How to Alleviate it...
I don't know what it is, but even when I'm bored and desperate for something to do I don't come on here to write. Writing is supposed to be my passion, and hopefully the source of my income in the future, yet here I continue to sit dreading the idea of putting pen to paper...or finger to keyboard as it were. What is it about me that doesn't allow me to enjoy what it is I enjoy.
I've actually decided that this needs to change and have found a secondary solution on top of the existing one of this blog. I belong to what's called a guild in World of Warcraft; I won't go into details and definitions at this time simply cause I have no patience for it. I've decided that I'm actually going to make updates on our forums with "tales" of my character in game, and stories of his life. This to me seems a great way to jump start my passion, while at the same time staying true to my sci-fi/fantasy roots of sorts.
Depending how they're received and if I actually go through with this I'll probably post them here. Until next time though....

Change is a good thing?
The internet has progressed a long way since I was a child and first began to explore it. My earliest memory of using the internet was spending time at my Dad's house downloading "themes" onto his computer. For those who don't know themes originally were a compilation of icons, mouse pointers, a background and overall art style used by Microsoft Plus to change the look of your desktop and assorted folders. The reason I remember this is because back then it took around 3-5+ hours to download one theme pack for something as simple as the Coca-Cola Polar Bears. These files for reference were never more than 1-3mb usually as well. Fast forward to today and most of us are downloading single pictures, music, or videos that are double, triple, or quadruple the size, and even bigger in a fraction of a fraction of the time.
This to me is the biggest difference between the internet of then and the internet of today. It incorporates actually so well into the world's slide into heavy impatience. The whole I want it now motif of life has become so wide spread in that.
The heightened download speeds are also important though because it facilitates every aspect of internet relations, and no not that version of relations. For someone like me who spends anywhere from 6-16 hours a day gaming online, while simultaneously reading forums, doing homework/research, and watching videos this is an amazing things. The amount of power required to do all that is staggering by the standards of 10-15 years ago; especially when you take into account that I live with 2 people who are usually doing the exact same things as I am.
When you get right down to it though I'm sure in another 10 years, assuming the world has that long left to live, we'll be looking back and feeling surprised that we were not always able to download 5tb files in 42 seconds on a "slow" connection.

Of In-game events...
Now though Blizzard has recently added a series of achievements based around the in-game events they've had around for years. These events range from Hallow's End to Brewfest. Some of these are based off real life holidays like Winter Veil, a "knock off" of Xmas. The cool thing about them is that for finishing off a large series of achievements for each event you'll get one step close to the 'ultimate' reward, a Violet Proto-Drake.
The reason I bring this is up is due to the fact that I've been working my ass off to finish these events as they pop up, which at this time of the year is fairly regularly. In such I'm realizing my gaming addiction has taken on something similar to actual work, but you know...can't say I'm complaining.
Ranting Cat is Ranting
So why is this so difficult for me. It's not like I haven't tried. I sit sometimes for hours staring at this page wanting to write, but instead I just sit and become mildly upset that nobody has left me a comment. Which who can blame them when there's so little to comment on. My best guess on why suddenly writing rants has become so hard to do is that once something I enjoy becomes an "assignment" I lose interest.
But no more!
From this point on I promise to post insightful, amusing, and highly entertaining pieces of literary amazingness!
That or plagiarize a site for lolcats.
Just kidding.

Visual Blogs-Week 2
Personally I don't intend to use anything more visual than the writings, and rantings, I put on this page. For me a nice clean crisp page is all the more interesting compared to what sometimes amounts to a "picture book" of jumbled images. Though there are plenty of blogs out there that do a good job with their imagery and even with it entice their readers to a greater level of interest.
A fellow classmate of mine does an interesting job of including visual media into their blog "I'm out like a Russian Monarch after 1917". At the start of, and sometimes in the middle of every posting she makes Apryl includes some kind of visual cue to the reader. Sometimes its a picture of the news event she's discussing, other times its a loosely abstract representation of an idea related to what she's discussing. All in all this can be very enjoyable and insightful into how she thinks about things.
There are many authors who work their blogs in this way, but I still prefer just plain old text. Though since I'm made this statement I'm sure we'll be having some sort of assignment now in the coming weeks to use a more visual approach to a blog.

To shreds you say...
Pretty much every time over the last week I tried to make this lovely little post my connection timed out on me. Didn't look to hard into why it did this, nor know why exactly its fixed now...or if it really is in fact fixed...hmm can anyone see this?
So time for a little introduction to what will be discussed here instead of me actually putting it in the "blog description" area. At leas once a week I will be posting something related to my ENG494 class, and then I'll be making assorted rants throughout the week related to whatever it is I may want to rant about. This will most likely pertain to something of interest to me: Star Wars, World of Warcraft, Gaming, and Flying Monkeys being the main subject matter.
On that subject though I'll leave you off with an explanation of the titling of this blog. "I have a bad feeling about this" is amongst many Star Wars fans a more notable line than "May the Force be with you". This is due to the fact that it's said in every single Star Wars movie, as well as nearly every movie George Lucas has been part of...Indiana Jones for those wondering. Now yes I realize that my blogs title is a variation on this, but that was only cause in my head I've always said it this way, so deal with it!
Until next time.
